President's Report

Spring is upon us, bringing new opportunities for growth, collaboration, and innovation within our chapter and the concrete industry. As we move forward in 2025 and as my term as chapter president is coming to an end, I want to take a moment to reflect on our recent accomplishments and share some exciting updates for the months ahead.

Recent Highlights

March was a busy and rewarding month for our chapter. Our UCSD Student Night was a great success, providing an invaluable platform for students to connect with industry professionals, explore career opportunities, and gain insights into the latest advancements in concrete technology. I want to extend my gratitude to our members who attended and shared their experiences with the next generation of engineers and industry leaders.

Additionally, our Young Members Forum (YMF) Golf Lessons provided a fun and interactive way for emerging professionals to build relationships within our community. Engaging in activities beyond the job site strengthens our chapter and fosters a strong sense of camaraderie among members.

Upcoming Events

Looking ahead, we have some outstanding events planned that I encourage all members to participate in:

· April Luncheon – “Don’t Get Burned by Mass Concrete” (April 8, 2025, Stone Brewery, Liberty Station): This presentation will cover essential considerations in mass concrete applications to prevent common pitfalls and ensure successful project outcomes.

· May Annual Meeting and Luncheon – “Demystifying Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) in Concrete Construction” (May 13, 2025, Stone Brewery, Liberty Station): A deep dive into the critical role of MOE in concrete design and performance, with insights from industry experts.

· Certification Programs: Our ACI certification sessions continue to be in high demand. If you or your colleagues are looking to advance your credentials, be sure to check our website for upcoming sessions.

Looking Forward

As we continue into the second quarter of 2025, I encourage each of you to stay engaged, share your expertise, and contribute to the growth of our chapter. ACI San Diego thrives because of its dedicated members, and I’m proud to lead such a passionate and talented group of professionals.
