Forming the Future

The use of concrete in buildings, especially high-rise buildings, has become much more commonplace and the forming industry has been required to keep pace. Challenges in concrete construction, such as complexity, accelerated schedules, architectural requirements, and most importantly, safety, seem to be encountered on every project.  Formwork has come a long way since early construction and technology in formwork is developing rapidly. This seminar will introduce various forming elements that are being used in the US and around the world, including case studies of projects currently underway or completed, showing how the new developments in formwork are helping to improve the efficiency of the workforce, reducing cost, and creating a safer environment. This presentation will be great for designers, contractors, and engineers to be educated what is capable in concrete structures with the different tools available within the formwork industry today and in the future.

Tom Grose, Vice President Western US, PERI Formwork Systems

Tom Grose, having over 25 years of experience in the construction of projects in both trade and management level positions as a contractor and as a supplier, is passionate about sharing his knowledge of the industry. With a primary focus on formwork and shoring, Tom welcomes the opportunity to collaborate on solutions to complex building problems that improve efficiency, coordination, and safety in construction.
